Health Examinations
|
Our primary responsibility is to help you keep your pet as healthy as possible. The care we provide is aimed at protecting your pet from disease and the early detection of health problems.
For pets up to 7-9 years of age, a thorough health examination is recommended at least once a year. Senior pets, older than 9 years, are seen at least twice per year and these visits include diagnostic blood work as well as a physical examination.

Dental Care
|
|
Dental
disease is one of the most common diseases found in pets. The bacteria that
cause dental disease can be a source of chronic infection and discomfort in
your pet and has been known to cause serious organ infections. Manzano Animal
Clinic offers complete dental services to maintain your pet's dental health

Surgical Care
|
Our hospital is well equipped to perform most minor and major surgical procedures.
Prior to surgery, each patient receives a thorough physical examination. Because not all problems can be detected on examination, we also perform blood testing if needed.
Pain control is a very important part of any surgical procedure. The doctors and staff at Manzano Animal Clinic take all necessary steps to relieve any discomfort before, during and after any surgical treatment.

Diagnostic Laboratory Testing
|
If your pet requires a blood or fluid analysis, Manzano Animal Clinic can provide you with this service. We have a fully equipped laboratory with trained technicians who take samples with minimal discomfort to your pet. In most cases, results are returned within twenty-four hours.
Once the results are available, our doctors will provide you with a full evaluation so that you understand what these mean and what you may need to do about them.
In addition to blood and fluid analysis, we are equipped to read fecal, skin and ear samples for parasites. We have medications available on the premises to treat many parasites at the time of diagnosis.

|
Radiology and Ultrasound
|
Manzano Animal Clinic provides in-house state-of-the-art radiology (X-rays) and ultrasound with results in 5 to 10 minutes. As in humans, both methods are highly effective in aiding the veterinarian with diagnosis. In some cases ultrasound can provide you with an alternative to expensive exploratory surgery, especially if you have an older or infirm pet that is unable to stand the rigor of an operation.

Permanent Identification
|
Microchip implants provide fool proof, safe, and permanent identification of your pet. A microchip is a tiny electronic device, about the size and shape of a grain of rice. It is implanted beneath your pet's skin, between the shoulder blades, and stays there for its entire life. This procedure is as easy and as painless as a vaccination. By law, Animal Shelters are now required to scan all impounded pets.
If a chip is present the pet's owner is notified and contacted.
